General Information

How We Use Your Information

The practice uses your personal information so that we can ensure you receive the best advice, treatment care and support. Information may be recorded on paper or computer files as part of providing you with healthcare. Anyone who receives patient identifiable information from us is also under a legal duty to keep it confidential. We may need to share information about you with other NHS professionals outside the surgery, who are involved in your care. Your information will only be accessed or shared on a legitimate ‘need to know’ basis. Doctors and staff are required to respect their duty of confidentiality to you as part of the professional codes of conduct and by their contracts of employment.

Access For The Disabled

Woodhall Spa is a modern, purpose-built surgery offering easy access to the mobility impaired. There is a large car park in front of the building and easy access within the surgery for disabled patients, including wider doors and disabled toilet facilities. If a patient requires help to enter or move within the building, there is a doorbell at the main entrance to alert reception staff who will be happy to assist

Zero Tolerance

We expect our staff to show courtesy and respect at all times and also expect the same from patients in return. We operate a ‘zero tolerance’ policy and will not accept verbal or physical abuse directed at our staff. If such an incident occurs, we will contact you to discuss the matter and explain our policy. Should a further incident arise, you will be asked to leave the practice. Any incident which involves contacting the police will result in the patient being removed from our practice list immediately.

Non Attendance Policy

If you do not attend an appointment, and do not let us know in advance that you will not attend, you will be sent a letter to remind you of the missed appointment. Should any patient book, and not attend 3 appointments in a 12 month period, we will ask them to register with another GP Surgery.

SMS Messaging Service

It is possible for us to remind you of your appointment by sending a message.
As this information is sent to you via an NHSmail account from an open landline to you mobile, the message will not contain any patient identifiable data or medical information – we will simply send you a reminder 48 hours prior to your appointment at the surgery.
The NHSmail account will not be used for anything other than sending the text message and cannot be used to contact the surgery with queries or concerns – it is only a vehicle for relaying a reminder message to our patients.
If you would like to sign up to this service, please complete the form via this link.
Vulnerable Patient Leaflets

The National Health Service has asked GP Practices to provide all patients with a named GP to have overall responsibility for their care.
The doctors at Woodhall Spa New Surgery have decided that the most straightforward approach would be to divide and allocate our patients randomly between the five GP partners, so they each have an equal share of our practice list.
Please continue to make appointments with the GP of your choice. The allocation of an accountable GP does not, in any way, prevent you from seeing or receiving your routine care from any of our GPs  and you can see whomever you prefer.
If you would like to know the name of the GP accountbale for your care, please ask to speak to one of the receptionists on duty.

GP Salaries

NHS England require that the net earnings of doctors engaged in the practice is publicised, and the required disclosure is shown below.
However it should be noted that the prescribed method for calculating earnings is potentially misleading because it takes no account of
how much time doctors spend working in the practice, and should not be used to form any judgement about GP earnings, nor to make
any comparison with any other practice.
All GP Practices are required to declare the mean earnings (e.g. average pay) for GPs working to
deliver NHS services to patients at each practice.
The average pay for GPs working in Woodhall Spa New Surgery during the year ended 31st March 2018 was £ 60,958
before tax and national insurance. This is for 5 part time GPs
who worked in the practice for more than 6 months.
